Belligerence Cost and International Propaganda

Brief Overview

This study theorizes international belligerence costs and argues that propaganda lowers these costs for authoritarian leaders. Using Chinese and U.S. statements, sentiment analysis shows propaganda makes official rhetoric less costly internationally.
