Resolve, Capabilities, and Brinkmanship in Nuclear Crises

Brief Overview

This project shows how coercive capabilities, not just nuclear brinkmanship, shape outcomes in crises. We find that while resolve can drive risk-taking, it can also lead to restraint when instead states compete at lower levels of conflict.
