Negativity Bias Revisited: Assessing Candidate Evaluations and Campaign Environments

Brief Overview

This project analyzes negativity in campaigns and media from 1968–2024 using ads, media, and ANES data. We argue that oversaturation has weakened the once-dominant impact of negative information on voter evaluations of presidential candidates.
