Launched in 2016, Braver Angels is a national citizens' movement to bring liberals, conservatives and others together at the grassroots level - not to find centrist compromise, but to find one another as citizens. Braver Angels seeks to depolarize American politics. Our work is rooted in grassroots organizing. From the grassroots however, our volunteer leaders (supported by a small staff) leverage Braver Angels programs and unique organizing structure to impact community life and American institutions.

By facilitating workshops, debates, and forums, we encourage university communities to become beacons of civil discourse where students can express their perspectives freely and fully while actively listening to others. Through these initiatives, we aim to cultivate critical thinking, enhance communication skills, and promote a culture of civil discourse. Together, we’re making a difference by encouraging young people to embrace dialogue, find common ground, and become advocates for understanding in their communities.
