At the 2026 Midwest Political Science Association (MPSA) Conference, AmeriSpeak® aims to connect with political science researchers who require reliable, nationally representative data for studying public opinion, civic engagement, voter behavior, and related topics. AmeriSpeak is a probability-based panel that uniquely uses in-person recruiting with random sampling to reach hard-to-reach groups. These features help ensure that political science scholars generate findings that reflect a broad and accurate view of the American public.

AmeriSpeak offers research pathways that match the range of methodological demands within the political science community. Scholars who need fast insights can use AmeriSpeak Omnibus surveys, which deliver quick, cost-effective results within weeks. Those conducting in-depth or theory-driven work can field fully custom studies, design tailored sample plans, and target demographic groups by age, ethnicity, geographic area, and more. AmeriSpeak also supports qualitative interviews, tracking studies, and benchmarking efforts that give political scientists the flexibility to explore questions from multiple angles.

Researchers also benefit from AmeriSpeak’s commitment to transparency and scientific rigor. Our industry-leading response rate helps reduce non-response bias, and our adherence to established research standards ensures that data can withstand peer review and replication requirements. AmeriSpeak powers high-profile studies such as The AP-NORC Poll, giving political scientists confidence that the same infrastructure can support their own research programs.

NORC’s Public Affairs and Media Research Department helps clients understand the public’s shifting beliefs and behaviors. The rapid changes in our society require swift, nuanced research into Americans’ beliefs and behaviors. We provide those insights for the nation’s top media, consulting, policymaking, and philanthropic organizations.

NORC’s Public Affairs and Media Research explores a range of issues—from electoral behavior and civic beliefs to religious beliefs to why consumers buy certain goods. And if the question is especially urgent, we can incorporate NORC’s AmeriSpeak®, a probability-based panel that lets us complete projects in weeks, even days.

This year at MPSA, NORC is pleased to announce the launch of our Civic Health & Elections Project. NORC is leading a collaborative and non-partisan research program to generate data that can improve civic discourse and decision-making. The NORC Civic Health & Elections Project will feature a transparent and rigorous 50 state study to include over 85,000 registered voter voices, state-level depth, and rapid and accessible data tools for communities, media, and policymakers to strengthen accountability and civic confidence.

In a media environment focused on pre-election horserace polling, the public and policymakers lack critical information for months after elections about the electorate’s experiences and attitudes toward the issues underlying American democracy. While existing surveys tell us what voters in certain states think about the top candidates, there is little information about the hundreds of millions of Americans who live outside swing states and those registered voters who decide not to vote. The Civic Health & Elections Project will provide the data needed for healthy civic discourse through a deep understanding of the broader electorate’s views of issues impacting their daily lives, such as economic mobility, health care, and immigration.
