An Investigation into the Effectiveness of Student Guidance in High School Course Selection in China

Thu, October 17, 8:00 to 9:10am, The Graduate Hotel and Conference Center, Joseph Strauss

Abstract

The elective course system under the new college entrance examination reform in China is an important part of educational reform, aiming to promote students' personalized development and comprehensive quality improvement. However, the effectiveness of student guidance in elective course systems has not received sufficient attention and in-depth research in practical implementation. This study, using Zhengzhou City in Henan Province as an example, explores the effectiveness of student guidance in elective course systems through questionnaire surveys and on-site interviews, analyzes the problems and challenges, and provides suggestions for improvement, aiming to provide theoretical and practical support for the implementation of elective course systems.
