Summary

Effective communication about introduced, invasive species is necessary for the public to engage in productive dialogue and participate in solutions. I describe existing barriers to invasion biology communication that limits public trust and understanding, highlight three flawed messaging strategies that exacerbate these barriers, and recommend building blocks for improvement.
