Summary

Although national EE policies might be critical in advancing the field, there is a lack of research on them. This study examines Brazil, Colombia, Peru, and Venezuela's national EE policies. We developed an assessment framework that demonstrated significant differences in policy content, approach, and theoretical foundations, offering valuable insights for future policy development.
