Monitoring environmental change, with ecological wisdom, in Shaikarawe forest conservation area can help to guide policy on conservation of forest resources and provide early warning data on its degradation. Shaikarawe is a remote village of San ethnic group of people situated in the Okavango Delta (UNESCO World Heritage Site) west region of Botswana in Africa.
