Summary

In considering the trade-offs inherent in environmental issues, establishing common ground between those with opposing viewpoints may not generate consensus, but may have other collateral benefits. Through several perspective taking experiments, we have improved relational trust and caring, but have lingering questions about whether attitude change/agreement should be a goal.
