The “Law and Order” of using Effective Sources in a Speech

Abstract

In the basic course, students often have a hard time grasping the notion of citing and integrating sources in their speeches. We use the NBC drama Law and Order to demonstrate the importance of credible sources and how they support the arguments used in the judicial system. After doing this activity, students typically have a better understanding regarding the use of sources in speeches because they can see the application in everyday life.
