Session Submission Type: Panel Discussion
It is almost certain that Basic Course instructors will encounter intentional and inadvertent plagiarism. However, this course also offers unique opportunities to teach information literacy, source citation, and other research and writing skills that can equip students to engage in good academic practices. Using a roundtable format, panelists will discuss their strategies for preventing, detecting, and dealing with academic dishonesty as well as strategies for teaching students skills needed to do ethical academic work.
