Rethinking discourses of sexual violence

Abstract

Building upon this year’s conference theme- communicative worldviews- faith-intellect-ethics- this panel focuses on representation and processes of meaning making in understanding rape and sexual assault. Together the presenters illustrate the ways in which an intersectional analysis is attuned to multiple discursive and legal sites and can reveal the shifting, complex, contradictory, and yet persistent definitions of rape in public life.
