Communication Mad Libs: Exploring and Applying Affectionate Behavior

Abstract

In any interpersonal relationship affectionate communication is a central component in how relational partners communicate with each other. However, affectionate communication is complex and can be affected by multiple variables. This activity allows students to explore how specific variables surface in their own use of affectionate communication behaviors by comparing two different people, contexts, emotions, verbal expressions, and nonverbal expressions.
