Stories from the Beyond: Narratives of Resistance in the Amigos de las Mujeres de Juarez Action Cards

Abstract

In order to explore narratives about the hundreds of women who have been murdered and disappeared in Ciudad Juarez since 1993, this piece seeks to investigate the function of the “Mujeres de Juarez” Action Cards. We analyze the cards to understand the specific ways in which the cards construct narratives that challenge the dominant discourses by the Mexican government about the critical human rights crimes against the women in Ciudad Juarez.
