'A Thorn in the Flesh': Exploring the Spiritual Causes of Illness

Abstract

This paper is an attempt to help understand the causes of illness. Specifically, the author explains the link between a spiritual orientation and illness as described in the Scriptures. If some or, possibly, many types of illness, have a spiritual cause or can be associated with the spiritual component of human existence, as the Scriptures state, this would help us understand illness in a new light.
