Organizational irrationality is the everyday practices that pull organizational members in different and sometimes competing directions. The goals of this manuscript are to flesh out the ways in which bureaucratic organizing and bureaucratic rationality create organizational irrationality for members of Good Beginnings and highlight the unique organizational strategies in the form of alternative rationalizations created and performed by members of public service organization in response to organizational irrationality.
