Remembering Classically Liberal Feminism: Dr. Christina Hoff Sommers and Collective Remembering

Abstract

This project is an exploration of how Christina Hoff Sommers’ narratives situate the feminist identity within patriarchal values. It critiques Hoff Sommers’ contextualization of the present state of feminism, expounding how she draws on history to inform current realities. Finally, the project cautions feminists from adopting a subject position that disregards difference rather than disassembling the power structures that constrain gender, race, and class.
