This study examines forms and strategies people use to manage uncertainty about moving into older adulthood from a Problematic Integration Theory (PI). The probability of losing physical functions or developing diseases is high, but to what degree and when are unknown. Issues such as finance or caregiving may also create uncertainty. These are the types of questions addressed by PI. Interviews are conducted with seniors-to-be. Two antecedents are also examined: age categorization, locus of control.
