Narrowing the Rift: Conversionist Approach to the Debate of Christ's Role in Culture

Abstract

Religion plays a major role in shaping, redefining and reflecting worldviews. However, this role is constantly challenged, causing a tension between religion and society, or more aptly, Christ and culture. A look into the perspectives surrounding this phenomenon is analyzed to gain a contextual understanding of the tension between Christ and culture. An examination into the continuing effects of this tension is then probed, concluding with implications and ramifications to implementing a possible resolution.
