Intergenerational communication has been studied in familial and social contexts (Zhang and Hummert, 2001; Williams and Giles, 1996). This research expands the study of intergenerational communication into the workplace. One hundred and sixty five young, middle aged, and older working adults responded to a modified version of the Interpersonal Communication Satisfaction Inventory (Hecht, 1978). The results identify the differences in satisfaction levels between peer and intergenerational communication partners in the workplace.
