What Can I Fit in a Suitcase? On Moving to Pursue a Doctorate

Abstract

I’m packing my last bag before I make the move. This move is good; trying new things and meeting new people is…good. But I begin to panic—I’m pushing my stuff down, re-arranging the piles, and even contemplating throwing some stuff away. Sad, frustrated, I admit to myself that they aren’t going to fit. My family, friends, and close colleagues are staying here. These are my thoughts and feelings on moving to pursue a doctorate.
