Wiki Use and Adoption in the Classroom: Understanding Educational Wikis with the Technology Acceptance Model

Abstract

Wikis are one of the new learning technologies that have started to gain scholarly attention. This study developed a structural equation model based on the technology acceptance model and social cognitive theory. Both qualitative and quantitative methods were conducted to test the structural model. The significance of the current study is that it is the first study that examines the adoption of wikis in the classroom within a technology acceptance theoretical framework.
