Abstract

This is the crux of the issue. Mother. Mother myself as person, mother as ideology. What exactly lies in the space between these two places? Narratives and experience ground concepts constructions and expectations of mothers requiring a gaze well beyond the personal and deep into the political, social structures of who we are. I am intrigued to consider the ways in which personal storied relationships with our children intersect with these ideals.
