In Event: Environmental Policy and Behavior Change: The Rhetoric of Energy, Water and Climate Change
In the age of global climate change, managing local microclimates through policy decisions will be increasingly important for urban communities. Urban microclimate conditions (e.g., temperature, humidity, air quality) are influenced by land use and land cover choices, which have direct impacts on water and energy use, quality of life, ecosystem processes and sustainability. This study proposes that a community-based social marketing strategy can inform policy-makers and residents as they grapple to develop holistic microclimate policies.
