Talking About What is Distant and Not so Distant: A Temporal View of Sustainability in Communication Studies

• In Event: Scholar to Scholar V

Abstract

This paper proposes a view of sustainability as temporal issue that needs to be considered at a meso-level. Sustainability is temporal because immediate needs are balanced against our ability to provide for future needs. It is meso because the feedback cycles between (in)action and outcomes vary across individual, group, and organizational levels.
