This session will explore the significance of the Black Caucus, NCAs first caucus, and that of the African American Communication and Culture Division from a disciplinary and global perspective. We will highlight how historically and contemporarily, Blackness has been everywhere and nowhere; visible and invisible; exploited and consumed, but rarely understood and respected. Utilizing the insights of scholars across generations, we will celebrate our progress and answer President Barack Obamas call for transparency and service.
