Abstract

This presentation notes the very different performances of “reasonableness” that took place in the technical sphere of constitutional argument and the public sphere of the Prop 8 debate leading up to the election. The role of argument critics as “translators” of the technical sphere is offered as an appropriate role for argument critics interested in civic engagement.
