Abstract

The panel will address the following questions: In the humanities, will the book remain the most significant vehicle for the dissemination of scholarship? How will the pressures of technology affect the academic book? How will the pressures of the marketplace affect it? How will the pressures of the marketplace and technology affect the scholarly plans of authors? What do these changes say about the future scholarly shape of the profession?
