Teaching Listening in the Basic Course: Stability and Change through Current Research

Abstract

Many instructors teach listening from the basic course text without realizing that most texts do not cover the supported listening research. This session, facilitated by International Listening Association members, will provide participants with background in how to teach listening in the basic communication course. Materials will be provided, including an extensive bibliography of listening studies that easily can be found in popular databases.
