Session Submission Type: Panel Discussion
Communication scholars have generated a body of research and advice published in a variety of venues.
Can we point to evidence that the contributions have made or will make a difference in the
practices or lives of individuals in the community? The panel brings together persons publishing essays in a
joint issue of Journal of Applied Communication Research and Communication Monographs as well
as the editor of each journal and the editor of the special joint issue. A call has been issued for responses to these essays to be refereed and published. The panel gives members of the discipline wishing to submit a response a chance to discuss the issues before submission to the journal(s).
