Session Submission Type: Panel Discussion
This proposed panel features four different papers that approach mentoring students of color from different perspectives. Accordingly, a primary strength of this panel is in the diverse ways in which the central theme is applied to various media contexts. In particular, a diverse set of theories and methodologies are used to explore how the importance of mentoring students of color impacts interactions in the classroom, through established academic programs, as well as in the larger community.
