Session Submission Type: Panel Discussion
The National Science Foundation established the Office of Cyberinfrastructure in 2005 to support the high-performance computing needs of scientists in America. This infrastructure has evolved to create and maintain large-scale virtual organizations that support distributed scientific experiments across distance and time. This panel features a group of leading computer scientists and eminent communication researchers to discuss the development of cyberinfrastructure-enabled virtual organizations and a research agenda for the next five years.
