Session Submission Type: Panel Discussion
Answering Ono and Sloops (1995) call for critical rhetoricians to theorize vernacular discourses produced by historically marginalized communities, scholars in Latina/o Communication Studies have developed a body of work in Latina/o vernacular rhetorics. At its heart, this work has been attentive to context, cultural nuance, indigenous theorizing, and the rhetorical and performative dimensions of Latina/o rhetorics. This panel brings together key scholars whose work has established and contributed to Latina/o vernacular rhetoric for a roundtable discussion.
