Session Submission Type: Panel Discussion
Key and upcoming scholars discuss the future of Intercultural Communication (ICC) education and scholarship in this time of economic and institutional instability. One thread of discussion centers on the stability of ICC programs, employment opportunities, and publishing venues. Another thread concerns the relationship between critical and interpretive ICC and globalization as well as the areas of cyberspace studies, media studies, performance studies, and gender and queer studies. Can ICC as a discipline re-invigorate its momentum?
