Session Submission Type: Paper Session
Presentations in this panel challenge the framings of disability as a fixed, disembodied category of medical, therapeutic, and aesthetic discourse. Employing embodied methodologies of inquiry such as ethnography, in depth interviewing, and a elicitation of first person narrative accounts, participants interrogate and reframe disability as an embodied discourse, exploring change that is possible for bodies that do not fit the constraints of social frames.
