The role of communications in the promotion of political stability: The Ghana experience

Abstract

The political turmoil that has marked the political development of post independence sub-Saharan countries has been a source of concern for well meaning people around the world. However, some countries in the region are beginning to take advantage of communications strategies to facilitate stability. Using Ghana as a case study, this panel examines how technology and state actors such as civil society and opposition parties are employing communications to safeguard the democratic process in Ghana.
