Abstract

This panel explores the role of “Family Organizer” in both heterosexual and gay families, focusing on the performance of gender identity in the context of the “relational maintenance” role. Panelists will present/perform the results of ethnographic interviews from both Performance Studies and Family Communication perspectives, followed by a response from scholars in each of these areas.
