Session Submission Type: Panel Discussion
Hear womens voices from online support groups, interviews, stories, and diaries, as they share the life-changing challenges, frustrations, and joys of being long-term caregivers and care receivers. More than men do, women often provide care for children, parents, friends, partners, or colleagues in poor health. Such caregiving can harm womens careers, health, and relationships. Later in life, when women find themselves as care recipients, they must cope with losses of mobility, independence, and identity.
