Session Submission Type: Panel Discussion
This roundtable will engage professors and graduate students in a discussion of the pedagogical, ethical, and practical issues involved when scholars intertwine their own research projects into a graduate course requirement. This practice allows the professor to use the immediacy and authenticity of an ongoing research project to meet course objectives, using the project to teach research skills required in the contemporary environment, but it should also provide students with the opportunity for independent analysis.
