Abstract

The first of a planned series of panels addressing key communication questions from a variety of perspectives, integrating scholars from a range of NCA divisions, this panel focuses on the area of Health Informatics: the convergence of information science, computer science, and health care. The Obama administration’s plans for significant spending on Health Informatics, make it important to ask how these technical systems will integrate with the social system in which they will be deployed.
