This paper session will feature four papers in a session focused on Black folk, Black arts, and social movements. One paper examines Henrietta Davis and the UNIA. A second paper examines Toni Cade Bambara and the Black Studies Movement. A third paper examines African American quilters and the African American Quilters Guild of Oakland. A fourth paper examines Black Panthers Bobby Seale, George Mason Murray, and Emory Douglas and their contributions to the Black Arts Movement.
