Making Engagement Visible: Using Process Data to Uncover Feedback Effects

Abstract

To uncover processes underlying feedback effects, we used process data from a computer-based intervention study to gain fine-grained insights into feedback-triggered engagement during text revision, which fully mediated the feedback effect on performance. Our study demonstrated the great potential of process data for objectively and reliably measuring writing processes.
