Ruling the Void? The Democratic and the Republican Party Platforms towards the 2024 elections

Abstract

The purpose of the paper is to analyse and to compare the basic aspects of both the Democratic party and Republican party platforms towards the 2024 elections. The analysis will based on the theoretical framework of R.S. Katz and P. Mair about the political cartelization of the political parties and the representation issue that characterizes the politics of the Western Democracies. The analysis will focus on the basic economic issues and the policies of the welfare state of both platforms in a comparative approach.
