Abstract

There tends to be a focus in the West on the presence or absence of political liberalism hen dealing with African states. This presentation builds on the presenter’s research on Kenya and South Africa (among other places) to offer more expansive suggestions about how to analyze and theorize about the domestic-international nexus in African IR.
