This paper builds on prior research that has emphasized the role of explicit racial prejudice and hostile sexism in affecting vote choice in recent presidential elections. Both of these factors are hypothesized to be salient predictors of vote choice in the 2024 election as Kamala Harris was the first women of color to be nominated by a major political party, and her opponent was Donald Trump who has frequently employed appeals to radial prejudice and sexism. Data are taken from the 2024 American National Election Study.
