The Meridians Project: Writing, Teaching, and Practicing the Art of Feminist Theory

Abstract

In the spirit of recognizing and teaching resistance, this workshop is designed to create and share feminist pedagogical practices. Using the Meridians journal as a tool and recognizing that political and social activism has redefined the classroom, participants will write, model, and design Teach-In strategies and academic disruption tools that directly address this political and social moment of resistance and directly confronts the issues of racism, sexism, intolerance, and bigotry. This workshop provides a space for voices that have been cut out to grow back and pour out songs and words of resistance, of hope, and of liberation (Alicia Partnoy).
