Abstract (50-100 words)
This paper presentation will cover personal experiences during a human rights delegation through the Guatemala Human Rights Commission. What started as a trip to find out how a group of privileged US Citizens could help in the crisis of femicide in Guatemala turned into a lasting education on ecofeminist activism. The work of the many Maya-Quiche activists we learned from is truly inspiring, and the work we did together felt like a true transnational collaboration rather than a “West is Best”, maternalistic relationship.
