Description

At the 2024 PME-NA Conference in Cleveland, OH, our working group met for the first time. The goals of this working group were to share our experiences of using children’s literature in mathematics teaching and learning with elementary students and elementary preservice teachers, engage in mathematical explorations using children’s literature, and build a community of scholars and educators for future research collaboration to develop research-based resources for preservice and in-service teachers. During and since the conference, members of this working group have met regularly to continue conceptualizing research ideas based on the members’ shared interests. In this report, we unpack our progress stemming from our collaboration and our plans for the working group’s future.
