Description

In this colloquium, we will present six years of collaborative research on approximations of practice in mathematics teacher education. Participants will explore how these approximations shape teacher preparation, addressing issues of equity and authenticity in instructional design. Sessions will include discussions on past findings, current challenges, and future directions, drawing from the recently published book the colloquium leaders edited, Promoting Equity in Approximations of Practice for Mathematics Teachers. Participants will engage in critical conversations on bridging research and practice, with opportunities to join ongoing collaborations in grant writing, publications, and instructional material development.
